Although I prefer to read classical writers and never have been interested in such kind of genre like “Monster Kody Scott”, I have found the autobiography of Sanyika Shakur very attractive. From the first lines I could not stop myself to read the story about early “feats” of young gangs. The world of violence and ferocity always provoked in my mind curiosity and wish to understand people’s behavior. Here Sanyika explanes his impulse for choise of being a Monster. His environment served a reason and created favourable conditions for growing a vicious perception in his soul. His and his friends most important values were power, control and reputation. The writer eloquently reveals gangs’ agressive attitude towards enemies. Each narrated fragment create vivid scenes, as episod with his mother. His text is rich in specific expressions and remarks. The book seemed so interesting to me, that I have found information in Internet and was pleased to learn that Sanyika eventually changed his life principles and after revaluation in jail become a “crusader against the causes of gansterizm”. The “Monster Kody Scott” is the story of transformation of a main heroe from young killer to a mature man.

The autobiography was very interesting, and as I understood, we all finish reading the text at one stretch. But I still prefer to read classical novels taking a pleasure in elegant style of narration and more humane themes.
It is important to learn about the root of violence and ferocity of american gangsters. It helps to create a more equitable approach to judgement of criminals and understand motives to commit the crime, but the world of killers and their gangs seems to me too agressive and cruel. It is hard to justify their brutality.

hello guys ..

I agree with all of you about how interesting the story was , although I was so disappointed when I finished reading , because I was searching for an ending . I also disagree with Asel about preferring classic novels over this kind of stories , although I prefer watching a movie about Monster than to read his story .
